for truckers, there is overnight parking and unloading is fast, there are only 2 doors.

The company in itself treat every employee like family, you are never blindsided by anything. You are kept up to date on company, department and individual progress, pay is good, fellow team members are very knowledgeable and easy to approach. I could go on and on, great place to work!

It takes longer for them to quote you a price on parts than it does to coat them. There are always communications lapses where people are asking for information that was already given. The quality of the work was ok but there communication leaves a lot to be desired.

Our machine shop of a die plate we needed one hole chromed on. The diameter of the hole was .1488, it was a 1 in long through hole. All we needed was that one hole chromed and .002 per side. They called and said it would cost $427 and would take a week!!! Called porter guertin they said it would be between $100-$150 tops to chrome and do the same EXACT thing to the hole. When I called tech metals back to ask why they were 4x the price they said they take a lot of pride in their work. I guess if you take a lot of pride in your work you can charge 4x the amount.

I gave 1 star because I can't go without giving stars!!! I thought working at this company, as well as working with the people were great, but I was wrong!!!!! Not only is the company racist AND sexist, there is so much favoritism it's ridiculous. I really thought tht me showing up on time everyday, & getting a 90 cent performance raise after 4 months, was going to keep them frm firing me, & again, I was wrong!!!!! I was treated like a piece of meat by all the guys on 2nd shift, & when a second shift team leader was exposed( not by me) I was involuntarily involved which resulted in everyone hating ME, ultimately resulting in an unjust termination!!! I hope whoever is considering being employed there, reads the review first, because they already have their favorites & if u are a female u WILL be a target, unless u kiss some butts around there like the females who are still there. If u are black, u wll nvr get a position in the processing office because it's all white!!!!!

After emails with a pleasant sales person, I shipped parts to TechMetals for coating. I was told that I should have my parts back in hand in 10 days. Their phone-hold message says "most are done in 24 hours." On the 12th Day, I received am email, not a call, that told me that TechMetals would not be coating ANY of the parts I sent. They said that they were unable to remove coatings from the parts. This is after I specifically asked, and they specifically told me that they could do this, and gave me a price. When I called, the receptionist seemed very nice but no one there besides her would even talk to me. In my personal experience and opinion, this company appears to be completely ignorant in regards to doing this type of business and their customer service is abysmal. I would not rely on this organization to paint decorative pieces, much less apply engineered coatings to life saving equipment. My order ended with a Total failure from this company. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
